DME Common Electronic Data Interchange Front End Contract Award
National Government Services, Inc. is proud to announce we have again been awarded the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Common Electronic Data Interchange (CEDI) front end contract by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). With this contract, CEDI will continue to provide a single front end solution for the submission and retrieval of Medicare DME electronic transactions.
Trading Partners will continue to send all Medicare DME electronic claims (X12 837P and NCPDP) and Claim Status Inquiry transactions (X12 276) to CEDI. CEDI will continue to return the front end response transactions (X12 277CA, 999, TA1, and NCPDP Transmission Response) as well as the X12 835 Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and X12 277 Claims Status Response transactions from the DME MACs to our CEDI Trading Partners.
NGS will continue to offer the CEDI Claims Portal providing a web based claim entry option for Medicare DME suppliers to submit HIPAA compliant ANSI X12 837 claims and retrieve front end reports and X12 835 ERAs without use of a Network Service Vendor (NSV) and without purchasing or maintaining DME claim submission software.
National Government Services offers a dedicated CEDI website at https://www.ngscedi.com with additional information about CEDI. Our website offers self-service tools for DME suppliers and submitters to look up 277CA edit codes, NPI and PTAN crosswalk matches, CEDI enrollment status and self-serve password resets. CEDI outreach and educational materials are distributed through listservs to help suppliers, vendors, clearinghouses, and billing services to stay informed and current on the latest information.
